Laura Scherman

DIRECTOR, Principal Clinical Psychologist

Laura Scherman is a warm Clinical Psychologist who journeys alongside people, with respect, empathy and understanding, as they navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives. Laura is passionate about helping people identify a way forward and works with her client to find tools and skills that best work for them as an individual. Laura is not afraid to talk about anything and everything, and does so in a grounded, natural way, making her clients feel quickly at ease. She started Full Life Psychology out of a vision to bring together a skilled team of psychologists, united in their passion to help people walk more freely forward and build a meaningful and FULL LIFE.

Laura utilises evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy. She enjoys working with people of all ages, from people aged 16+ to older adults. Her clients come from a range of backgrounds including, but not limited to, professionals, students, police officers, job–seekers, pastors and church leaders, young women, retirees and stay–at–home parents. She respects and incorporates her client’s personal values into sessions.

In addition to one–on–one clinical work, she has also had various opportunities to present to audiences in schools, youth groups and church settings. She has also helped write and develop a number of psychological programs and coordinated professional development and training events. Laura lives on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and two children, and in her down time she enjoys good conversations with friends and family, being creative, traveling, and seeking new experiences.

DIANA TRIM

PROVISIONAL Psychologist

Diana (pronounced Dee-arna) brings a wealth of life and professional experience and wisdom to her role as a Provisional Psychologist. Diana has worked extensively in education, business and ministry. Her past leadership roles as a School Principal, business owner, team leader, manager, educator and pastor, have helped hone her unique set of skills, and enabled her to connect well with a range of people of different ages and backgrounds, including adolescents, young adults, educators, parents, managers, church leaders, retirees and more.

Diana loves to help people better understand how their mind works and to work with it, not against it, so that they can better navigate whatever obstacles they are facing and to cultivate their best life. Diana creates a safe and supportive environment for people to be able to open up and more comfortably discuss their experiences and challenges.

Whilst passionately working with people of all ages, Diana has a particular soft spot for empowering young people. Her years of

experience across various roles where she has worked with adolescents who are neurodiverse, have learning needs, or struggle with anxiety or depression, has equipped her with skills and tools to effectively support young people who are facing a wide range of challenges. Diana helps young people explore the way their brain works and what makes them unique, in order to work with them to find different ways to overcome barriers and achieve their goals. She loves to see them reach beyond what they thought was possible.

Diana is integrative and collaborative in her approach, and uses evidence-based therapies, customised to the individual situation. She also has experience working in cross-cultural environments and is able to provide services in English, Afrikaans and Dutch!

DAVID BEAL

PROVISIONAL Psychologist

David is an authentic, warm and caring Provisional Psychologist. He has raised (and is still raising) six children with his wife of over 20 years. He brings a significant amount of life experience to his role and understands firsthand that life does not always go as planned. He is passionate about helping children, parents and individuals who are going through overwhelming situations and who are struggling to maintain hope for the future. 

Prior to his training in psychology, David has worked in many different spheres over the years and in every role he has had, he has always been focused on helping others. His passion is to be able to do the same for you. David loves getting to know people on a deep level - to really understand how they think and to create a safe space to work collaboratively with them in order to discover how their thoughts and beliefs may be impacting their day-to-day life experiences and longer-term futures. 

David has also mentored and guided many young adults from diverse national backgrounds with a youth organisation which required him to travel and work across Australia. He really enjoyed being able to help bring transformation to these young people and see them strengthen their sense of identity and confidence.

CARMEN FOURIE

PROVISIONAL Psychologist

Carmen is a dedicated, empathetic and caring Provisional Psychologist with a strong commitment to supporting individuals in overcoming mental health challenges across all age groups.

Carmen is particularly passionate about working with young people, guiding them through their mental health challenges, and empowering them with valuable insights and evidence-based strategies. Her creative approach includes explaining complex concepts visually and interactively. She also finds great joy in facilitating group programs.

Over the past two years, Carmen has developed the MiiND Platform, a free interactive mental health platform devoted to supporting the mental well-being of young people. Simultaneously, she has been running group therapy programs like the Hot Chocolate Circle - a group therapy program for teenage girls. Through these roles, Carmen has acquired valuable insights and a deep understanding of the best evidence-based practices for supporting and guiding individuals on their mental health journey.

ARWYN WARNER

Clinical Psychologist, Telehealth

Arwyn is a warm, empathetic Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over twenty years in private practice, community settings and hospitals. Whatever a person is struggling with, she aims to help her clients feel valued and empowered to overcome their difficulties and live well. She enjoys helping adults 18 years and over from all walks of life and works with each person to identify their goals and understand what is happening for them. She draws on a range of evidence-based treatment approaches according to each person’s needs, including interpersonal therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and EMDR. Arwyn provides Telehealth services only, which means you can have therapy in the comfort of your home and is available on Mondays.

Noleen Sonderegger

Clinical Psychologist

Noleen Sonderegger is a Clinical Psychologist and mother to five amazing children. Noleen cares deeply for her clients and has been dedicated to helping others both in our local community and abroad. Noleen has worked for many years in the area of transcultural mental health, specifically with young survivors of trauma associated with war in Northern Uganda. She is passionate about justice and the author of the novel ‘Hunting Angels’, which depicts the lives of children caught up in Northern Uganda’s civil war. As well as this, Noleen is published in national and international scientific journals for her work with childhood anxiety and depression.

At a personal level Noleen loves nothing more than the simple things in life. She loves being out in nature and her hobbies include trail running, gardening, kayaking and writing. Between being a mother and her work as a Clinical Psychologist, she is attempting to find the time to write her second book.

Dr. Alexandra Lamont

Alex is a relaxed, empathic clinical psychologist with a strong desire to help her clients develop greater self-awareness and a sense of hope in order to live an enriched and fulfilled life, no matter what the challenges are that they may be facing. 

Alex works with a wide range of clients, aged 17 years and older, who may be experiencing a range of mental health issues including, but not limited to, depression, trauma/PTSD, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, substance use, and interpersonal difficulties. Having moved to Australia from Zimbabwe/Botswana 19 years ago with her family, Alex understands the cultural challenges of moving countries and loves to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and spiritual orientations. 

Alex employs a number of evidence-based therapies to help her clients achieve their goals, such as CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, PET, and EMDR. She has provided psychological services in a variety of settings such as Centacare, Teen Challenge (a Christian Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre) and in private practice.

Alex has a keen interest in working with people experiencing PTSD and was commissioned into the Australian Army as a Military Psychologist for three years. She has since transferred to the Reserves as of May 2021. Prior to her work as a Clinical Psychologist, Alex originally trained as a nurse and midwife in South Africa. Alex and her husband are keen travelers, having backpacked around the world for a number of years in their youth, and most recently they traveled around the ‘top end’ of Australia in a tent for 3 months, before settling on the Sunshine Coast. She has two adult sons (one of whom is in the Australian Navy), owns far too many books, adores her two cats (rest assured she is also a dog person), and has run a few marathons in her time.

Kerrin Van Der Kruk

Kerrin is a friendly, supportive and passionate psychologist with a Masters in Professional Psychology.  Kerrin draws on her own life skills from raising a large family, to create a relaxed, safe space for her clients to explore their challenges in a compassionate and uplifting atmosphere. She works together with her clients, drawing upon their own strengths, to help them take courageous steps forward towards achieving their goals and living the life that they want to live. She enjoys assisting her clients in developing more awareness of their unique patterns of behavioural responses, to identify the impact these responses have on their life, and to better equip clients to engage in more helpful behaviours which improve their outcomes.

Kerrin offers both individual and couples therapy. When meeting with couples, Kerrin works from an Emotional Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy framework to help clients better understand their relationship patterns of interactions and gently guides them in a way to restore connection and promote resilience in their relationship.

Kerrin has worked with people from a variety of backgrounds across the life span, in both private practice and government settings and now works predominately with people over the age of 15. She is skilled in a variety of evidenced-based therapies which she tailors to each situation, including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Kerrin is also trained in trauma focused therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and trauma-focused Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CBT).

Nikki Nucifora

Nikki is a highly-skilled Clinical Psychologist, wife and mother. Nikki offers exclusively telehealth (online) consults - making psychology sessions accessible WHEREVER you are. Nikki has a passion to help people improve their mental health and wellbeing, overcoming obstacles to maximise their capacity and resilience. She is warm, caring and well-loved by her clients. She has worked in private settings for a number of years and has helped many people from a wide range of different backgrounds, ages and life experiences. She has also had opportunities to present on mental health topics to a range of different audiences and has been part of writing mental health programs for displaced people living in refugee camps.
